Pallet Board Bottle Opener

We've still got some pallets and some leftover pieces in our garage.  I saw this item for sale on one of the daily deal sites a few weeks back for around $25 plus shipping and handling:

I figured there would be a way to make it for a whole lot less. The person that I thought would enjoy this would be my brother-in-law, Chris. He has moved a lot of furniture for us lately and been Rob's right hand man when he needs some help.  He loves Budweiser on occasion, so I was able to find a Budweiser opener on Ebay for around $7.00.  I picked up some stickers at Michaels to create the OPEN on my opener, and then added a bucket to hold the actual caps once you use the opener.  The bucket was from the Target dollar section. In total I spent approximately $10.00 to make my own, and I've got a lot of stickers left over.

Rob sanded down the pallet piece, and then placed the stickers on it. Then he drilled in the bottle opener and used a hook to attach the bucket.

Chris...this will be ready for you when you come back. Thanks for stopping by!

Megan

  3. Your knock off version is perfect. I love that you even have a bucket to collect the bottle caps. There is usually a bottle cap that always ends up on the floor, near the recycling bin and I am always the one to step on it...so I can appreciate this extra touch. I can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the pallet (first a table, then a bottle opener...what's next).
