Big Sister Kit

You may have noticed that we have been preparing for the arrival of two boys to our family. One person that has definitely been aware of this upcoming change is our daughter. In order for her to feel more comfortable when that day arrives I created a Big Sister Kit for her to give her when she visits the hospital.

The kit includes a

  • "The New Baby" book by Mercer Mayer
  • A disposable camera for her to take pictures of the first few days of being a sister
  • A brag book for her to place her own photos inside and to share
  • The Big Sibling Book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal - which is super cute and I can't wait to fill it in with her. The first few pages are to be completed before she actually becomes a big sister.
  • A big sister shirt from Three Wild Girls Etsy shop
I packed it all up in a pink bag I picked up from Michaels for a $1. I added some ribbons and a flower to the outside with some adhesive to make it a little more fancy.

I am sharing another photo of this adorable shirt. I cannot wait for her to wear it. I am nervous she may not want to since she is someone who loves to wear dresses, but we shall see if she will want to when the day comes.
Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

  1. This is absolutely precious! I love everything in the bag. What about a cute ruffle tutu to throw in with the shirt? Or an embellished blue jean skirt to match the shirt??
    Hope you are feeling well.

  2. What a thoughtful big sister gift. My favorite is the camera. How sweet that you'll encourage her to take her own pictures to document the arrival of the babies. Wynn is going to be a winderful big sister. I have a dress wearer too...tutus usually encourage her to wear tees. I can't wait to see the gift you put together for the dog :)

  5. So cute, the shirt is adorable. My girls are still quite young and don't fully grasp the concept that they will be big sisters in a few short weeks, but I am getting them their own "baby dolls" to unwrap at the hospital. They are almost two and I still haven't gotten them dolls. No better time than now, I guess!

  6. Maybe you should pair that adorable shirt with a fun twirly skirt for your dress loving big sister.

I love the idea for a big sister kit. (It's a little late for me now, lol, but maybe one day with grandkids ;)

  8. Oh that is just a beautiful way to make her feel involved. I love the shirt, maybe she could wear it with a skirt if she isn't keen on pants. Also kids LOVE cameras!

  11. Such a great idea! We actually just picked up that little book at a garage sale. It's so sweet! :) I love the shirt. She can wear it with a skirt! :) Did you do design the applique yourself? I just tried my first applique and it was so much fun. I can't wait to do it again. I just bought some little onsies to try soemthing on them. Maybe I'll do Lil' Sis. :)
