Fabric Covered Diaper Boxes

Lately, Wynn has been the recipient of many bags of hand me down clothes. We are so lucky to have such thoughtful family and friends. However, I was beginning to run out of options of where to store all of these clothes. Her closet hangers were all filled up with her current size as was her dresser.

A few months back I had asked my friends to give me any of their empty diaper boxes they had leftover. They sat in my garage for several weeks before I did anything with them. Then I found a tutorial shared through our Baltimore Blogging Group by And Away We Go that featured a no sew version.  Check out her tutorial in the link above for how to make them.

I bought a pack of cardboard stars from Michaels for a $1 and covered them with leftover wrapping paper. I am in the midst of some serious cleaning/nesting right now, so I'm trying to use whatever I can get my hands on in my own house.  I cut out some vinyl numbers and letters to label the boxes with sizes.  I used Velcro to attach the star to the box.  That way I can update the sizes as needed as more hand me down clothes or consignment sale finds are accumulated.

I think I'll be able to make a lot more of these boxes in the future with twins on the way. I have a feeling I'll be overwhelmed with the number of diaper boxes very soon.  Thanks for stopping by!

How lucky to have someone give you hand me downs. And, what a stylish and organized way to save all the clothes.
