Holiday Gift Exchange

I am participating in a gift exchange through Craftaholics Anonymous and was tasked at sending a homemade gift to my draw.  I went with the semi homemade route due to my schedule this month.  I decided to take a cute little burlap pouch from the Target dollar section and add some fabric rosettes to them.  This was the first time I had made some of these, and I had a lot of fun making these little flowers.  I made about fifty of them last week while I had to sit through continuing education for my real estate license.  Thankfully I was able to pay attention and keep on wrapping these little flowers up. I used this great tutorial to learn how to make these - My Sparkle Rosette Tutorial.

I then made a homemade candle with some vanilla sent, and wrapped it up in some coordinating fabric with the rosettes.

My partner mentioned that she liked to craft, so I sent her gift in this Ikea storage box. That way she can have a space to keep some of her craft supplies.  This was a better idea then  just using a plain old mailing box.  I just wrapped it in brown paper and sent it on its way.

Thank you for checking out my little gift.

Texas Flag Pallet Board Bottle Opener

A friend of ours recently returned from deployment and moved into a new place. Rob and I wanted to create a unique welcome home and housewarming gift for him. Previously we had made a Pallet Board Bottle Opener, and Rob suggested we make one with a Texas flag on it for our friend who is from there.

Rob used a pallet board we had sitting the garage, and then used sample size paints from Valspar to create the flag. He even went to Michael's by himself in search of a star sticker to use as a stencil. What a great guy!  Then he used antique glazing over the entire board to give it an aged look.

Rob then attached a bottle opener that I purchased from Amazon.  We are happy with the way it came out, and are excited to give it to our friend.  The entire project cost around $10 dollars and would make a great gift for anyone because it is easy to personalize.

Thanks for stopping by!

Napkin Tree

I picked up a package of napkins on clearance at Jo-Ann's for fifty cents the other week. I had purchased a paper mache cone for around three dollars at Michaels not knowing what I would do with it. I decided to cut about four napkins into strips and then use mod podge to adhere them to the cone to make a fall tree.

I'm still trying to hang on to fall colors and Thanksgiving here instead of giving into Christmas just yet.

The total cost for this project was a little over three dollars because I did not use all the napkins in the package. I hope to find another use for the rest of the pack soon.

Thanks for stopping by.
