I ordered some canvas bins from Amazon and got a great deal. Then I adhered chalkboard labels on the outside, and used a chalkboard pen to write the description of the toys on the outside.
Then I placed them in our storage shelving that Rob built for our family room. I am not that great at decorating and styling shelving, so this gives me a reason to cover some ground without having to put much thought into them. Also it takes the toys off the floor, and if Wynn wants to play with something in particular she just has to ask. It has worked out well so far.
Don't mind the missing trim at the bottom of our shelving. We had some flooding from the pipes in our laundry room recently, and this was done before the repairs were in place. Nothing like having 100 gallons of water come out of your wall in a ten minute period.
Great idea for discreet storage! I have the same canvas bins (from Amazon!) in our linen closet. Which needs a refresher..thanks for reminding me;)
ReplyDeletecute! love the labels!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a good idea! The bins look cute on the shelves too. I have a hard time decorating bookcases, so boxes and bins are my go-to for taking up space (and holding all my junk), but still looking good.
ReplyDeleteLove it, I use them for my "toys" too (Craft Supplies) My son flooded my laundry and it went through the walls what a nightmare that was you poor thing! BTW I ove Robb's building is he a professional that's amazing!
ReplyDeleteBins, bins, and more bins! I still struggle with being up to my eye balls with toys! This looks really nice!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pretty stylish way to store toys to me and the chalk labes are great for changing out contents!. Just what you needed....a flood. I had a huge fish tank break one time...salt water...went straight down through our floor and ruined the carpet and the basement ceiling. Ugh.. a little water goes a long way girl!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I love the bookcases, and storage bins are the way to go, they hold lots and look neat!
ReplyDeleteAnd...just wait, you are going to have a lot more toys coming your way. I love how you can just throw toys that aren't being played with in a stylish storage bin and it's out of sight. Believe me, the toys drive me crazy too.
ReplyDeleteI love organizing! The baskets are cute and I love that you labeled them! And just in time, I see many more toys in your future!
