Easter Suitcase

I've had my eye on these adorable suitcases at Target for some time. They went on clearance about a week ago, and my Target had a bunch of pink and the blue checkered suitcases still available. I was buying a few larger size items for Wynn's basket for Easter. It was not going to fit in her typical Easter basket, and so I figured I would turn this adorable suitcase into her Easter basket. I believe the suitcase was about $6.00.  Plus we can just close it up and she can take all her goodies around the house easily.

April showers bring May flowers right? I figured this clearance umbrella was a cute addition with the matching headband.  The Disney Princess umbrella we have for Wynn has seen better days, and so this is actually a practical gift as well.

A few other goodies from her favorite characters. Most of these items were found at Target, and the Calico Critter bunny I bought on Zulily.

A few delicious candy items, and a new notebook to draw in while we are on our morning and afternoon car rides from school and work filled out the rest of the suitcase.

Quick and Cute Halloween Gift

It is no surprise to anyone that knows me that I love to give little gifts to friends, family and teachers. For Wynn's school teachers this year I thought I'd send in a little happy for Halloween. There are a lot of teachers in her school that interact with Wynn on a daily basis. I needed to come up with something quick and budget friendly.  Who am I kidding? I would make it quick and budget friendly even if it was for one person. 

I was scouring the always fun Target Dollar Spot on my lunch hour.  I grabbed several pairs of Halloween socks for a $1.  I had purchased some burlap pouches from the Dollar Spot last year, and they have them again this year so I grabbed a few more.

I then got to brainstorming on a simple card to go along with it. I cut out some pumpkins out of cardstock, and attached them with a simple strip of roll on adhesive to the pouch. I did not want to do anything to permanent because I wanted the teachers to use the pouches again in a way that works for them. I knew it might not be appropriate to say "trick or treat...smell my feet", and so this is what I came up with instead.

Simple Baby Gift Idea

 My family is expecting a new little girl to arrive very soon. I thought I would put together something for the little girl's room.  

I found this adorable frame from at Target on clearance. The chevron print was in one of the colors I knew that room would be done in, and so I picked it up thinking I would give it as a gift. Instead of just handing over a blank frame I personalized it a bit.  Then I found some used from scrapbook paper and vinyl for my Silhouette to spell out her name. The turquoise and gray are also colors of the nursery.   It was super simple and looked perfect as the gift topper on my main present.

I was so excited to make this cute little gift, and I now am kicking myself for not picking up more of these frames. For only $3 I could have made a few of these cute name gifts.  Thanks for stopping by! 

Bubbles Valentine

I wanted to make some adorable Valentine's for Wynn to give her friends.  I came up with this idea after remembering a bunch of bubbles I had purchased last year on clearance at Target. I think I may be a clearance junkie.

I started with the bubbles that I had gotten for about $0.70 each. I figured they were perfect for Valentine's Day being that they are heart shaped, and then I simply placed a glitter heart sticker over top of the princesses.  

After that I created a little tag that I slipped onto the string that says "bubbling with love for you". I'm hoping the kids get a kick of of these adorable Valentine's.

Gift for Labor & Delivery Nurses

 In a few weeks I will be in the capable hands of some amazing medical professionals. I remembered the first time around how much I appreciated the hard work of the labor and delivery nurses that I encountered.  This time I am going to be coming in prepared with some goodies for them as a token of my appreciation.

I was able to put four bags together for less than $5 a piece. The bags were a great deal at Michaels for just a dime.  Then I got the manicure/pedicure kits in the Michaels dollar section which is 60% off right now for 80 cents a piece.  I added some nail polish from Target that was around $4. 

This gift would certainly work for any occasion.  I have already packed these in my hospital bag, so I know not to forget them.  Thanks so much for stopping by! 

Lantern Gift for Mother's Day

If you know me you probably know I enjoy giving gifts in something other than wrapping paper or a gift bag. When I saw this lantern at Marshalls I knew it could house a gift idea inside. Instead of the traditional candle I enclosed some Maryland related goodies.  I added an anchor that I cut from my Silhouette to the back panel of glass. The best part is that this is easily removable if the anchor does not fit a particular decor.

I cut out several crab shapes on the Silhouette and added them to wooden crab knockers, a jar of Old Bay seasoning, and an envelope that has a gift card to a local restaurant where the my mother-in-law can pick up a bushel of crabs.

Here it is all packed up and ready to head to go.  I hope that my mother in law enjoys the gift. I know that I am in the mood for some crabs sometime soon. It certainly is one of the best warm weather activities I look forward to taking part in.

Buckets of Fun

The weather is warming up which means we will be spending time in the sandbox and water table very soon.  I wanted to get Wynn and a little friend some new toys for their activities outside this year.  I bought some items from the Dollar Tree and Target dollar spot to fill up some buckets. Everything I bought was a $1 or under.  I used my silhouette machine to cut out some shapes to add a little something to all the empty space on some of these toys.

Everything fit pretty nicely into the buckets too!

It cost approximately $5 per bucket to fill it up.  I think they are so cute and I know the kiddos will get a lot of use out of these toys.

Simple Baby Gift

If you know anything about me it must be that I am really into quick, cute and inexpensive gift ideas.  I had a friend recently host a christening for her daughter. I wanted to give her a little something for her room.  I found this white washed frame at Michaels for minimal cost. Then I added some scrapbook paper, some striped vellum and a small cardboard "a" for the little one's name.  I added this to a few other items that I had picked up for this sweet girl. I figured that this is something that could stay with her and was not too baby like.

This is a gift idea that can be changed up in a variety of ways too. It was a total of around $7.

Holiday Hostess Gift Idea

I picked up this adorable pedestal at the tag sale over the weekend done by Elizabeth and Co. I actually picked up two of them, and this was the smaller one. I figured it would be a nice way of giving a hostess gift during the holidays.

I picked up some garland on sale at Michaels and cut it apart.  It ended up being more cost effective than purchasing the individual pieces they had nearby.

I placed a candle holder from World Market's clearance section from the last holiday season in the middle.  I made my own candle inside using wax and scent from Michaels as well.

I then added a metal like sticker to the outside for just a bit more sparkle to the candle holder. 

Not a bad little gift for around twelve dollars or so. Thanks so much for stopping by!
