End of the School Year Gift & Free Printable

Hey all! I am back to share a super cute end of the school year gift for my daughter's teacher. She has had an amazing year in kindergarten, and I wanted to truly give her teacher something she would love.  

Lately, I have been high tailing it past the Dollar Spot at Target in order to avoid buying $20 worth of fun goodies I never knew I actually needed. The trip the other day got me thinking about her teacher, and I saw this adorable bag and towel for $8 all together. I grabbed a cup in the summer entertaining section by the patio furniture, and then I purchased the towel clips from Five Below.  I also picked up a gift card to Target and a Good Housekeeping magazine that looked like it was filled with summer ideas.

I created a tag on my Silhouette Cameo machine, and then made it so four tags will go along for a gift to anyone at the end of the school year. Click on the link and print off as many as you would like.

The bag, clips, magazine, cup and towel was around $25 total.  A relatively inexpensive gift, and you could always grab a cup or other goodies from the Dollar Tree to make it even more cost friendly. Thanks for stopping by today!

Teacher Appreciation Week Paper Straw Apple Project

I came up with two ideas that you along with kids can make for the teachers in your lives. They are inexpensive and can easily be paired with a small gift card or even some spring flowers from your garden as well. The first week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week, and it is a great time to thank a teacher for all they do throughout the long school year.

I purchased paper straws for around $3 from Wal-Mart. Then I found a canvas I had previously purchased for a few dollars from Michaels. The other materials I used were a green pipe cleaner, a glue gun, red ribbon, and a small metal and paper tag.

 
Wynn and I worked together to snip the straws at various lengths, and then we arranged them into the shape of an apple. Once we had the shape we wanted, I then used the hot glue gun to attach the pieces to the canvas.

Then I made two simple loops with the pipe cleaner, and then glued that to the top of the apple on the canvas. I wrote #1 teacher on the paper tag, and wrapped the twine it came with around the stem of the apple.

To add a bit more detail to the canvas itself we added some strips of ribbon to the canvas as well. You can really do anything to add more to the canvas. Maybe even strips of color coordinated scrapbook paper.

Another quick idea Wynn and I made together was an apple ornament. I had leftover glass ornaments from Michaels. Wynn helped me to squeeze some craft paint into the ornament, and then I shook the paint around to cover the entire inside. It was easier for me to do it being that the ornament is glass. Then she helped me write on the outside of the ornament with a paint pen.  We also added the pipe cleaner stem to this project idea as well.

Spring Gift Idea

As you probably have already noticed I love to send in a little something for Wynn's teachers every once in a while. Being a former teacher myself I know how stressful the year can get especially as we approach spring break. Wynn and I went to Target together and picked out a few goodies to share.

These adorable baskets are available in the Dollar Spot for $3. They had a few different colors. Wynn mentioned that her teacher said how much she loves Peeps. So, Wynn picked out a box of yellow chicks for her. We added a simple chalkboard label tag to all the gifts, and I purchased a package of them from Michaels. I wrote the names with chalkboard markers so they would not smear.

We also picked up some burlap bags for the teacher assistants in the Target Dollar Spot and they were a dollar each. We filled them with some end of the aisle clearance plain note cards. I took them out of the packaging and tied this with a ribbon. Then we also added a white chocolate egg we found for a buck in the Easter candy aisle.  The gifts cost around $4 to make for each teacher. Wynn has four teachers, and so this was a pretty cost effective way to send a little thanks.  Here is a little shot of all the chalkboard tags together before we assembled the gifts.

I had some paper flowers that I had gotten in the Michaels dollar aisle last year, and I know they still have them in there now. I hot glued a little flower to the front of each bag to add a little bit of something to it.

Soap'in You Have a Happy Holiday Season Gift Idea

Wynn's school has a few different teachers throughout the day. I wanted to be sure I gave them all a small token of our appreciation for their hard work. I saw an adorable idea at All Things Thrifty and she even offers a free printable that you could use. I simply just wrote out a little tag for my gift idea.

I cut out some small circles on snowflake cardstock, and wrote "Soap'in you have a happy holiday season". I taped it onto a cute little soap container from Method. I loved the snowmen on the bottle. I actually purchased six bottles in a set one day when Zulily had a sale going on. I am sure you could probably find something similar at Target or the Dollar Store.

I coordinated these soap bottles with some snowmen Target gift cards. This sweet and simple idea is perfect when you have a few people you'd like to give a little something to this holiday season.

Quick and Cute Halloween Gift

It is no surprise to anyone that knows me that I love to give little gifts to friends, family and teachers. For Wynn's school teachers this year I thought I'd send in a little happy for Halloween. There are a lot of teachers in her school that interact with Wynn on a daily basis. I needed to come up with something quick and budget friendly.  Who am I kidding? I would make it quick and budget friendly even if it was for one person. 

I was scouring the always fun Target Dollar Spot on my lunch hour.  I grabbed several pairs of Halloween socks for a $1.  I had purchased some burlap pouches from the Dollar Spot last year, and they have them again this year so I grabbed a few more.

I then got to brainstorming on a simple card to go along with it. I cut out some pumpkins out of cardstock, and attached them with a simple strip of roll on adhesive to the pouch. I did not want to do anything to permanent because I wanted the teachers to use the pouches again in a way that works for them. I knew it might not be appropriate to say "trick or treat...smell my feet", and so this is what I came up with instead.

Spring Teacher Gift

I always try and send a little something into Wynn's preschool teachers for various holidays or seasons. I created this gift for them for about under $15 for two of them.

I grabbed these adorable gardening gloves, seeds and flower pots from the Target gardening section. I may have to go back and get one of these sets of gloves for myself.  I added a burlap flower that was from the Michaels dollar section. It already had a clip on it, and so it can be easily removed and used for other purposes.

 I've had these little plant markers for a while. I purchased them in a package at Michaels. I just wrote a simple message on them for the teachers.
