DIY Baby Closet Dividers

I had my eye on some closet dividers for the boys and a few of my friends who were going to have babies soon. I saw some on Etsy, but with the amount that I needed I did not see the need in buying them already made. I found a great DIY Tutorial from Journey Chic on how to create your own.  I purchased Closet Dividers from Amazon, and there were 50 of them for $20. The sets I was looking at on Etsy and other sites were approximately $10 for a set of six.

I started out with the plain white organizer. Then I traced some scrapbook paper and cut out the shapes. I attached the shapes to the organizer with glue dots.

I typed up the sizing labels on Word and cut them out attaching them with glue dots as well.

I also made some with some pink colored paper as well for a little girl.

Each set of six cost $2.60 to make. Each organizer is $.40 and the scrapbook paper was $.20. That is not a bad deal for a little gift for a mom-to-be. I plan on using this as the gift topper to my larger gift at the shower.

Nursery Additions

The nursery for Ty and Davis has worked out fantastic so far these past four months. I am so glad Rob built the day bed with the Ana White plan. It is perfect for nursing, reading books and for sleeping.  I pretty much slept in there for the first 12 weeks, and I highly recommend the mattress that we purchased from Amazon.  Who would have thought that a mattress that arrived in a bag would actually be really comfortable?

Well I finally got around to doing something with the bottom of the bed where there was great storage.  I was able to put the rest of the books for the boys and many of their stuffed animals they have accumulated.  Wynn definitely enjoys coming in their room each night and picking out books for them from here or from the book ledges.

I just purchased these adorable prints from the Etsy store PicabooArtStudio. They came in a matter of days all the way from Hawaii. They were a great price too. You should check out her Etsy store when you have a chance. I just purchased some frames from Amazon to hang these with the Land of Nod Inspired Artwork I just shared last week.

The boys could not be left out and not receive their own piggy banks. I purchased these from Amazon and have plans on making them a little different with my Silhouette machine soon.  

I also changed up the curtains and purchased some Pottery Barn Kids black out sail cloth curtains. Who knew they would make such a huge difference. They help keep the room a lot darker in the mornings during naptime.

We are loving life even if we are sometimes sleep deprived.  Basketball season is ending this week, and Rob definitely spent last weekend walking around with a tape measure planning out his spring projects in his free time to come.

Precious Cargo Baby Sprinkle

My amazing friends threw me a baby sprinkle for the boys. A sprinkle is just a scaled down version of a baby shower. We already have so many baby items from Wynn, so this was a chance to get some boy specific items or double of some items that we may need the most.  It was a lot of fun, and the details of it were just adorable. They went with a theme of Precious Cargo. Here are some images from that afternoon.

They used cute maps and globes to decorate. The cupcakes looked like the earth inside of them with the blue and green combo. The cupcake stand was covered in maps on the bottom of each tray.  I loved the In Flight Beverage Service sign.

These adorable planes with signs were hanging above the food table.

Guests were asked to drop off their baggage (gifts) too. We received so many wonderful gifts and necessities.

The Bump

I'm participating in While Wearing Heels photography challenge for June. This month Amy asked that we share a self portrait with a quote. 

I'm now 20 weeks pregnant with twins.  This picture was taken at my friend's wedding last weekend where I was a bridesmaid for the first time. I am happy to share it because my hair has been done and so has my makeup,  therefore I am feeling a lot better than I usually am at this point.  Please excuse the flash partially in my face there are a lot of chandeliers in this New Jersey hotel so they were shimmering everywhere.

Baby Organization

I saw a great idea on Unoriginal Mom via Pinterest that shared how to organize all the paperwork related to babies in one convenient place. I purchased some folders from Amazon and used an file organizer that I already had. This would make a great gift for any expectant family.

I attached the labels creating different categories suggested by Unoriginal Mom.

I cut out some flowers and the text on my Silhouette in light pink vinyl to jazz up the expandable file folder. I created this folder a about two weeks ago so the pink may or may not match the genders of the babise. 

You could easily recreate this gift for under $15 for someone that you know that recently had a child or is expecting. I know I am feeling a little more organized already.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Masking Tape Wall Art

I purchased this roll of masking tape on clearance at Target. Anything with a red clearance tag generally catches my attention there. I picked it up for around $2.50.

I found a frame in my basement that was not being used anywhere at the moment.  I wrapped the masking tape around a piece of cardboard in the frame and then added some cut out vinyl from my Silhouette Cameo.  This took about five minutes to complete, and will fit easily into the nursery.  Right now I'm going to for a gray, white, navy and teal color scheme no matter what the genders are going to be.

Nursery Closet

The closet in our middle sized bedroom has mostly been a storage closet for the past five years.  I decided it was time to start working on it to become for functional for the soon to be nursery.  I need to get all this baby stuff organized before I become to big to even function.

Here is the closet before which had never painted in the five years we have been here, and looking rather sad.

Here is the closet now with a new coat of white paint and a coat of Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams on the wall.  I added some white baskets from Lowe's and lined the shelves with them for various baby items or storage needs.  I used wooden plaques from Michaels to create labels for the top baskets. I have the them labeled as diapers, wipes, sheets, blankets, toys, and feeding. 

I placed my $25 Thrift Store Dresser inside the closet, and took off the bi-fold doors permanently.  It does free up some much needed floor space in the room having the dresser in there.  Plus, I am going to use it as a changing table as it is the perfect height for that. Now, I just need to find a changing pad cover on Etsy.

I have a couple more items I am going to be adding to this closet in the future.  Those board books in the black crate will hopefully be on some book ledges on a nearby wall soon.  It is a start for now and it definitely helps with organization that is for sure.  Thanks for stopping by!

Adorable Nautical Nursery

My sorority sister recently shared her baby nursery on Pinterest.  She does not have a blog, and  I asked her immediately if I could share her amazing space.  I knew others would enjoy viewing such a special room.  She lives near the beach so the nautical theme is just perfect. Here are some of the photos she shared. Feel free to pin them if you'd like to do so.

She made the beautiful quilt and bumper in such an adorable fabric.  She refinished the oar herself and made the artwork. She purchased the other coordinating accessories that hang from the oar.

 She then also created this beautiful wall art, and was inspired by a pin she had found on Pinterest.

Her beautiful rocking chair was the one that her mom had used when she was little. This beautiful bunting that hangs across the window was also handmade in the same fabric as the bedding she made.

 Another beautiful feature in the room is the mirrored closet area. It looks so beautiful and perfect in this room.
